Deleting individual content
You don't have to delete your whole account to remove something you've posted. Within MyC, you can delete any of your own content directly, at any time:
- Posts and comments — open the post or comment and tap Delete.
- Marketplace listings — open your listing and tap Delete.
- Events — open the event you created and tap Delete.
These are removed immediately and don't affect the rest of your account or data.
What gets deleted
When you delete your MyC account, we remove:
- Your name, email address, mobile number, and apartment number
- Your profile photo (if you uploaded one)
- Your posts in the community feed
- Your marketplace listings (active and sold)
- Events you created
- Maintenance requests you submitted
- Push notification tokens linked to your devices
What may be retained
Some information may be kept after account deletion:
- Anonymised analytics — aggregated, non-identifying data about how the app is used. This cannot be traced back to you.
- Information we are legally required to keep — e.g. records relevant to a dispute, regulatory request, or legal obligation under UAE law.
- Building records held by your building admin — maintenance requests and announcements may be retained by your building manager for their own record-keeping, separate from your personal account.
- Backups — for a short window before being overwritten.
How long it takes
In-app deletion is immediate. Email and WhatsApp requests are processed within a reasonable timeframe, typically within a few business days. You'll get a confirmation message once your account has been deleted.
For building administrators
If you manage a building through the MyC Admin app, deleting your account works a little differently. In the app, go to Profile and tap Account deletion. This submits a deletion request for review rather than deleting your account immediately — once approved, your account and the announcements you published are permanently removed. Requests are typically reviewed within 2 business days. You'll see a "pending" status in the app until it's resolved.
Before you delete
Account deletion is permanent. We cannot recover an account once it's been deleted, even if you ask later.
